Service Data

In the Service window, all the service-relevant data is entered. This data is used to optimize services, allocate an ECU file to a service case and to manage the ECU data in the central Voith database. This includes information on:

  • Vehicle
  • Engine
  • Transmission
  • Customer
  • Service

All the service data are stored in the read-only memory of the transmission controller without having any influence on other data. Modifications, for example, in the operating data do not affect the service data. During transmission acceptance (PDI - PreDelivery Inspection), these data must be entered by Voith customer service.

Valid platforms:

  • DIWA.3 via E310
  • DIWA.5
  • DIWA.6 via KWP
  • DIWAhybrid E300.1

How to open the Service Data

The Service Data are accessed via the Service group in the main window. Then select the Service Data button in the Service menu.

ServiceData

The Service Data window is also available without a connected ECU. Data can be processed offline.

How to process the Service Data

All service data are plain text and thus can be freely edited in the individual fields. Most fields can also be filled by selecting from a combobox.
Most comboboxes are related to each other. As soon as you have made a selection, e.g. of the vehicle manufacturer, all dependent selection lists are filtered.
You can identify a set filter by the filter symbol to the right of the combobox.

ServiceData

You can deactivate filters by clicking on them.
If only one entry remains for selection due to the filter, ALADIN fills the field automatically.

Reading and saving in the controller:

Service data can only be written to a transmission controller under 2 conditions.

  • The service data have been read beforehand from the controller
  • All mandatory fields have been filled

By reading the service data from the transmission controller, all fields are overwritten with these contents. Therefore you should save your entries in a template beforehand.

All mandatory fields that are not yet filled are displayed by a red asterisk to the left of the field.

ServiceData

The service data is read from the controller using the "Read" button or the "Read service data from ECU" menu item.

ServiceData

When all conditions are met, save to the controller using the "Write" button or the "Write service data to ECU" menu item.

ServiceData

Transmission data from TIM

All data are read from the TIM via the "Edit - Transmission - Read TIM data" menu item and entered in the corresponding fields of the Transmission tab.

Personal service data

Your personal service information from the ALADIN settings is entered in the corresponding fields of the Service tab using the "Edit - Service - Enter My Service Data" menu item.

Working with templates

The templates are used for saving service data on the local hard disk. This means you can prepare and repeatedly use the service data for the PDI. ALADIN provides 5 variants of templates:

  • Vehicle template - Only saves entries from the Vehicle tab
  • Engine template - Only saves entries from the Engine tab
  • Transmission template - Only saves entries from the Transmission tab
  • Customer template - Only saves entries from the Customer tab
  • Main template - Saves all entries from the Vehicle, Engine, Transmission, Customer and Service tabs

For example, if you want to enter the service data of 20 vehicles of the same type at 3 customers, create 1 main template and 3 customer templates. For the PDIs, first load the data from the main template and then the data of the respective customer. Filling out the service data is thus reduced to the individual fields: VIN, bus number, official license plate and transmission serial number.

Saving a template

Templates are saved under the "Edit - Template Type - Save Template" menu item.

ServiceData

A "Save as" dialog then opens. Here you can allocate a name to the template.

ServiceData

Please note that the save location cannot be changed.

ALADIN shows which data have been saved in the template by a diskette symbol to the right of the field.

ServiceData

Loading a template

Templates are loaded via the selection list in the "Edit - Template Type - Template Name" menu item

ServiceData

ALADIN shows which data have been loaded from the template by a pen symbol to the right of the fields.

ServiceData

Working with ECU files

You can load or edit service data from ECU files and save them back to the ECU files.
The ECU file is opened via the "ECU - ECU File - Load ECU File" menu item. An "Open" dialog appears for selecting the required ECU file.

ServiceData

You can only save to an ECU file if you have successfully read the service data from an ECU file beforehand. The ECU file is saved via the "ECU - ECU File - Save ECU File" menu item.

Please note that no data can be saved directly from an ECU file to a controller. In this case, first load the data from an ECU file. Save the contents in a template. Then read the service data from the controller. Load the contents from the template and write them to the controller.
